about
"This song has a lot of history, it's been in the hands of great men. It was the first song that convinced Tony Calder, ex-manager of the Rolling Stones, to work with me. I was just sitting at his office, having a chat about some intense subject or other, as per usual, and I put it on for him to hear. He immediately picked up the phone and called his contact at the record label, we scheduled a meeting and a couple of months later it was being released with a Video Clip by the special effects department from the Harry Potter films. The song is about 'beating the drums' and announcing your arrival to your destiny, without fear of conquest, without fear of exceeding the limitations even of your most treasured dreams."
lyrics
Beat drums and sing out what you're feeling
Beat drums and sing out make a billion
You're a decent a person
You're just not certain
There's a Jesus trapped in there
But you're not so far
Sitting in your car
Going no place anywhere
But it seems to me
You also wanna be free
But you don't know what you're supposed to do
Look in the devil's eyes
If you wanna fly
And put his feet right in your shoes
But what you are
Is a star
So beat the drums
You're a Star
So beat the drums
That's what you are
Beat drums and sing out what you're feeling
Beat drums and sing out make a billion
When you were a child
You were really wild
But you never bought a gun
Listened to your friends
When they said that then
You'd spoil all the fun
You often think of girls
You think of better clothes
And a golden crutch to lean
You think of better lands
Of course you understand
That it's somebody else's dream
But what you are
Is a star
So beat the drums
You're a Star
You're a Star
So beat the drums
Beat drums and sing out what you're feeling
Beat drums and sing out make a billion
